We offer group cycle training courses to children and young people using the Department for Transport-approved Bikeability scheme. Children gain bicycle control skills, confidence, awareness and an understanding of how to communicate effectively with other road users in order to stay safe and seen. All instructors are fully qualified with a nationally-recognised 1st4Sport qualification – and are First Aid trained and DBS checked.
*Bikeability training has replaced the old Cycling Proficiency scheme. Click here for more information about the Bikeability training scheme.
Bikeability training in schools
Each year we provide group Bikeability training to thousands of children and young people in schools in Bristol, North Somerset and Swindon. The courses on offer may differ from area to area according to the terms of our contract with each local authority. We take bookings from schools, so if your school is not participating, please send this information to the relevant member of staff.
Bikeability courses in school holidays
Our popular Bikeability school holiday courses are available for children and young people in Bristol, North Somerset and Swindon. They take place during half terms and school holidays, apart from Christmas. The courses on offer may differ from area to area according to the terms of our contract with each local authority. Parents and carers can book their own child onto these courses online. Click the links below for more information and to book.
Due to continued social distancing requirements and the non-availability of venues, holiday courses will only resume in the May Spring Break, 2021. To receive an email when bookings re-open, please complete and submit an expression of interest form by clicking on the area below.
