How are you connected to Life Cycle?
I am a back rider with the Two's Company scheme, where the back riders get to go out on tandems due to their visual impairment.
What's your earliest cycling memory?
I remember going out as a child on a little bike with fat wheels, which we called Noddy due to it being red and yellow. I did progress to a larger bike over the years but when I became a teenager, boys became more interesting I suspect! I was also fully sighted at the time so was able to get about however which way I wanted to.
What was your first bike?
It was definitely Noddy. No idea of what make. I do remember getting my lime metallic green Raleigh at a later stage though.
What would your dream bike be?
As I have no idea about bikes, I can't be imaginative with this one!
What are your favourite cycling routes in Bristol/UK?
I personally enjoy the Two Tunnel route we do with Life Cycle and also venturing to Pilning, Severn Beach. This area is interesting for me, because although I can't see now, I still know where I am as I know this area well. I would love to cycle in the Lake District.
If you could wave a magic wand, and make something better about cycling, what would it be?
If I had a magic wand I would like to be able to make sure all cyclists, together with cyclists have respect for one another and use the roads accordingly and properly.
Who would your ideal tandem partner be?
If I could ride on a tandem with anyone, I guess Bradley Wiggins would be a fun choice, but I don't think my legs would go as fast as his!
What's your favourite pre/post cycling food?
If I go on a longer ride with Two's I enjoy a pasta dish the evening before. Breakfast is cereal with blueberries, crystalised ginger, three walnuts and almonds with Greek yoghurt on, followed by a large cup of tea.
