Meet the team - Ed Norton

How are you connected to Life Cycle?

I first got involved as a volunteer 5 years ago, now I’m Development Manager

What's your earliest cycling memory?

Going over the handlebars on my tiny yellow bike with stabilisers. I bawled my eyes out.

What was your first bike?

I was never really into cycling as a child so can’t remember my early bikes – but when I was 15 I got a huge Specialized Hardrock and I’ve had the cycling bug ever since.

What would your dream bike be?

I’m 6’6 – so an extra large custom built bike that actually fits me would be nice.

What are your favourite cycling routes in Bristol/UK?

Mountain biking on a sunny summer’s day on Exmoor is hard to beat.

How long does it take you to fix a puncture?

5 – 10 minutes.

If you could wave a magic wand and make something better about cycling, what would it be?

I’d ban cheap nasty supermarket bikes that are so bad they actively put people off from cycling. We’d do a lot better to import more Dutch style city bikes that are actually comfortable to ride for everyday use.

Who would your ideal tandem partner be?

I reckon Peter Sagan would make an interesting stoker

What's your favourite pre/post cycling food?

Peanut butter toast before. Pork pie during. Pint of bitter afterwards.
