Life Cycle wins £3,000 award following Public Vote-off

Life Cycle UK wins £3000 from Lloyds Community Fund to continue inclusive cycling work

Life Cycle UK has triumphed in a closely fought public vote to win a £3,000 award from the Lloyds Community Fund. Our sincere thanks go out to all of the 1646 people who voted for us!

The award will go towards supporting our Two's Company project, which offers joyful, liberating days out cycling on tandems to those who are blind or visually impaired, giving us a huge boost as we work to bring together the resources to run next year's ride programme.

Following news of our nomination, ITV Westcountry aired a short feature on Two's Company - which you can view online here - helping to further raise the profile of the project, which offers life-enhancing days out to around 40 visually impaired riders each year:

"Fantastic weather, great cycling, good company with lovely people who worked so hard to make it special for us. One of the most enjoyable weekends I've ever spent in the UK."

- Steve Ewens, Two's Company back-rider

If you know anyone who is blind or visually impaired who might like to join Two's Company next year, do encourage them to get in touch.
