Life Cycle Volunteer Wins Bristol Green Volunteer Award

We are delighted to annouce that long standing Life Cycle volunteer Hilary Cooling has won the Bristol Green Volunteer Award 2016 for her volunteering with all three of our inclusive cycling projects.

Bristol Green Volunteer Awards recognises contribution from individuals and groups across Bristol, and Hilary won the award for an individual in the Sustainable Transport section.

She has been an active volunteer with Two’s Company for over 5 years- as a front rider enabling those who are blind or VI to enjoy the freedom and fresh air of riding on a tandem bicycle. And has also volunteered with the Over 55s and Bike Minded groups for 4 years as a ride support helping people older riders and those who may lack confidence or experience anxiety, depression, schizophrenia to feel relaxed and comfortable on group cycle rides.

Hilary contributes enormously across our projects with her positive ‘can-do’ attitude, commitment and enthusiasm. In 2015 alone Hilary spent over 200 hours volunteering for Life Cycle.

Hilary is part of a fantastic team of volunteers who support Life Cycle's inclusive cycling projects, often going above and beyond what we ask of our volunteers and we would not be able to run the groups without them.
