Bristol Mayor has free cycle lesson - and you can too

Bristol Mayor George Ferguson has a free cycling lesson with Life Cycle UK

Bristol Mayor George Ferguson and Councillor Gus Hoyt today both took up the offer of a free confidence-boosting cycle lesson with Life Cycle UK.

Thanks to funding from Bristol City Council, anyone who lives, works or studies in Bristol is currently entitled to up to 3 free cycle lessons. Mayor Ferguson, who is a patron of Life Cycle UK, said...

“Cycling is one of the many ways I get around Bristol. We are working to radically improve our cycling network, most recently securing over £7.7 million of national funding for the city and surrounding region.  However there will always be a need for cyclists to interact safely with other road users.”

Councillor Hoyt said:

We need to encourage as many people as possible to cycle regularly - it is good for your health, good for the environment, gets people out of cars and cuts congestion. Cyclists are less likely to be off sick from work, and you can park many bikes in the space taken by one car. It is win-win-win”.
