Thanks to funding from Bristol City Council, we deliver accredited Bikeability cycle training courses to small groups of children during the school holidays (except Christmas).
Level 2 Bikeability on-road cycle training for School Years 5 -7
For Level 2 training, you must be able to cycle already and control your bike, you also need a roadworthy bike and helmet to take part. Training begins off-road to check skills then quickly moves onto quiet local roads to build skills and confidence.
Level 2 training is delivered over 2 x 3hour sessions with up to 12 riders and two instructors.
Level 3 Bikeability advanced cycle training for School Years 7-9
Level 3 courses build on the skills learned at Level 2 and teach young people to master challenging junctions, negotiate multi-lane roads and do basic route planning. Your child must be 11+ and be a confident cyclist who can ride one-handed and look over their shoulder. Click here to see the prior ability guide for Level 3. You also need a roadworthy bike and helmet to take part. Training begins off-road, then moves onto local roads under instructor supervision.
Level 3 training is delivered in 2 x 2hr sessions with six riders and two instructors

Safety during COVID-19
The Bikeability Trust (our professional body) have been working with the Department for Education to lay out strict safe systems of work to enable training to take place. Our updated delivery guide and risk assessments provide for smaller group sizes to allow adequate distancing and all training takes place outside. Instructors and riders will maintain 2metres social distancing at all times. Hand sanitizer will be available.
Your child must be well and not suffering from any COVID-19 symptoms or living with anyone who is symptomatic. By booking training, parents are confirming that their child can understand and abide by social distancing rules and will follow the instructions of the course leaders; we reserve the right to terminate a session/course early if the course leaders feel it is in any way unsafe to continue.
Please check carefully the date, timings and location before booking: Next courses are being arranged for May half-term school holiday
