Volunteer For Us

Volunteering with Life Cycle UK is a great way to develop your skills, meet new people and work as part of an enthusiastic team. We have over 50 regular volunteers who make a huge contribution to our work every year, and we simply would not be able to continue much of our work without them.

If you are passionate about getting more people cycling, able to help fix bikes to a high standard or able to support some of our group ride activities, then please consider volunteering for us.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Volunteer to help with our organised rides
  • Raise funds and awareness in your area
  • Join our team as an intern
  • Help out at our events
  • Drive or lend us a van for a day

If you are interested in helping in anyway possible then send us an email and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Current opportunities:

Two’s Company is Life Cycle’s programme of tandem rides in and around Bristol for people who are blind or visually impaired. We are looking for strong and experienced cyclists to join our fantastic team of volunteer front riders.

As we have a shortage of female front riders, we are particularly keen to hear from female cyclists.

In 2015 we will be running rides for adults and children between March and October, mostly at weekends but with some weekday evening rides during the summer months.

Training will be provided: Please note for 2015 the training will be over two sessions on Thursday 26th February 4-7pm and Saturday 28th February 10am-1pm in Bristol

Please find more details and the application form  here   or for further information please contact Heather at tandemrides@lifecycleuk.org.uk or telephone 0117 3534580

We are looking for volunteer bike mechanics who can give up half a day a week on a regular basis to help with our bike recycling project at Bristol Prison. Click the link above to find out more...

  • Volunteer Bike Mechanic(s) to help fix up kid's bikes

We need one or more volunteer mechanics to help fix up kid's bikes for a Family Cycling Project we are running. The mechanic needs to be able to run more or less without support (i.e. we cannot provide training). The bikes are required for 'Kid's bike swaps' - in which we have a number of refurbished kid's bikes done up to a standard where they are ready to be traded or  sold. It is a great way to keep the kid's cycling. If this is something that interests you, please get in touch.
