Silver Cyclists
Silver Cyclists is a new Life Cycle project which aims to encourage older people (that's over 55's in this case) to cycle by providing a programme of group rides in Bristol.
The rides are aimed at over 55's who can cycle but haven't for a while and would like to get back into cycling. If you are a complete beginner, we can also offer cycle training sessions to get you started!
The rides will be mid-week during the day and start in Easton, Lawrence Hill and Bedminster. They will be of varying lengths to suit different abilities, and each ride will be accompanied by a volunteer ride leader. They will be gentle and sociable and involve frequent stops! Upcoming rides:
Friday 24th Feb Whitchurch or Bust
Meet at St Paul's Church, Coronation Road, Bedminster 1:30pm
We will follow the Malago cycle path and see how far we can get. If we make it to the top we will come back via the Whitchurch cycle path.
Bring thermoses and I will bring cake.
Friday 9th March St Georges Loop
Meet at St Paul's Church, Coronation Road, Bedminster 1:30pm
An easy ride along the Railway Path to St George's Park. Another chance to feed the ducks & partake in tea & cake!" Return along the Frome cycle path.
If you haven't ridden before with us & would like to give it a try, you would be most welcome. Also, if you're unsure about how to get to the meet point or would like accompanying do let us know as we can probably help out. Please call the Life Cycle Office on 0117 353 4580.
If you're interested in finding out more about the rides or being a volunteer ride leader (you must be available midweek during the day), please contact Julie Hares on 0117 353 4580 or julie@lifecycleuk.org.uk
