Many thanks to everyone who came down to Windmill Hill City Farm and made the event sucgh a success. The sun shone and it was a busy and fun-packed day. Highlights included:
A kids bike swap – parents brought along their old outgrown bikes to exchange for the next model up. We successfully exchanged 28 bikes for larger and more suitable models, to the delight of kids and parents alike. If you've got an old kid's bike you can donate for our next kids bike swap, we'd love to have it
Our friendly Dr Bike mechanic service was on hand to fix a steady stream of bikes throughout the day.
Life Cycle also had a range of equipment available for parents to try out – such as bike seats, tag-a-longs, a trailer and an electric bike. Missed your chance? Don't worry; we have a few tag-a-longs available to loan out. email us if interested
We also offered cycle training taster sessions for children and for adults with one of our friendly qualified instructors. Missed out but still want a lesson? Browse our upcoming lessons
Poppy Brett, Director of Life Cycle, said "We are delighted with the success of our first ever family cycling event at Windmill Hill City Farm. We do everything we can to get people cycling, and the best way to do this is to get them early. If we can get parents cycling with their toddlers and young children it will help them get used to the idea of cycling at an older age. It was great to see so many people out and about enjoying themselves on bikes”
Many thanks to Windmill Hill City Farm for hosting us - the event formed part of their 'Apple Day Celebration', which featured apple pressing, bobbing, a bar and a farmers market.
