Mental Wellbeing

Our "Bike Minded" project brings the benefits of cycling to anyone in Bristol experiencing wellbeing issues.

Who is it for?

Anyone experiencing stress, anxiety, depression - or any other condition that affects your wellbeing. You are welcome to self-refer or be referred by an agency or your GP.

What we offer

If you haven't been on a bike for years it can feel hard to get going. We offer a range of practical support to help you get back onto two wheels with the wind in your hair:

  • Low cost bikes
  • Free cycle training
  • Bike maintenance skills
  • Regular free, friendly group cycle rides

Feedback

Bike Minded has a hugely positive impact on the lives of our participants: 100% record a positive impact on their mental wellbeing; 85% feel fitter and healthier and 79% say they now socialise more.

"As a disabled adult and long-time user of mental health services it's been really empowering to get an affordable bike, go on rides, meet other people and get some exercise. It’s built my confidence...I am using my bike to get around town and I've signed up for a maintenance course so I can do repairs. It has been very beneficial for my health and wellbeing" – Ryan (name changed)
