Life Cycle UK runs regular four-day instructor training courses. Each course covers the theory and the practice of teaching children and adults to ride safely on-road. Essential issues such as risk assessment, insurance, child protection, teaching techniques and client care will be explored.

Places on our four-day course cost £450 per person (lunch provided). A bursary of £300 is available for instructors training in England - see www.bikeability.org.uk/professionals/ for details or download the bursary application form.

People completing the course will be provisionally accredited to National Standard, they become fully qualified after completing a probationary period during which they are observed teaching. We can provide the necessary on-the-job monitoring and observation during this period (prices on request)

Life Cycle is the UK's centre of excellence in the field of cycle training. In partnership with the Department for Transport, the National Cycling Strategy Board, LARSOA, RoSPA, the CTC and others, we have helped devise the new National Standards for both adult and child cyclists training. We have worked with local authorities, NHS trusts, the private and voluntary sectors across the UK to establish cycle training schemes.
